Saw doctoring... the Sims way
Times may have changed since 1928, but we certainly haven’t changed our Sims Saws dedication to keeping up with the shifting demands of industry, the inception of specialised machinery and advancements in technological processes.
The Sims name has been synonymous with saw doctoring for over 90 years and we pride ourselves on matching the loyalty of our clients by keeping a pace with the updating of technology and saw units to keep your blades working and your production running.
Beginning with Alfie Sims creating the business in Auckland on Cook Street back in the 20s, it was George Sims that continued the family business and now, the Sims grandsons still run and work in the company – so you could say, we’re committed and passionate about what we do.
In the beginning, the core of our business was working alongside and servicing traditional woodworking applications and industry. Now we find ourselves working with the aluminum and plastics industries, as well as tackling specialist applications in areas such as food and packaging. Needless to say, all this diversification depends on having the right people with specialised skills to make it all work.
